Posting Offered Accommodation adverts
To post an advert you must first join Christian Flatshare(CFS). The key to posting a good advert is to take care to put helpfully detailed descriptions and to add photos, both which help encourage advert responses.
Once you have logged in, on the right hand side you will the member's menu where you can click "Post Offered or Wanted ads". Click of "Offered accommodation ad" and choose:
- House or Flat Share - Houses or flats shared with others
- Room Share - A room shared with someone of the same sex
- Family Share - Accommodation shared with a family with children or with a married couple
- Whole Place - An unoccupied house or flat
Follow the steps in the advert form to post your advert.
Anytime afterwards you can go to "Your ads" (top right corner) where your advert(s) are listed and where you can:
- Add photos
- Edit your ad to change its details
- Suspend your ad temporarily
- Delete your ad
- Facebook your ad, to share with Facebook friends
- Change your advert's picture

Any Wanted Accommodation adverts that match your offered accommodation will be shown below your advert summary, on the Your ads page. We recommend that you look at and reply to any of the adverts you think are suitable.
Replying to Wanted Accommodation ads
If you enter the postcode of accommodation you have to offer in the Quick Search on the front page you will be shown those wanted ads who are looking for accommodation in your postcode, which you can reply to.
If you have placed a offered accommodation advert a link to it will automatically be included in your reply.
Advert posting tips
Some advert posting tips which are well worth following...
- A warm, helpful and informative description of the accommodation and those living there is always helpful. Adverts that have a brief description attract less response. It is worth taking the time to thoughtfully describe your ad. When posting the ad, can initially put a brief description and later edit it to expand it. It may be helpful to look at other adverts on CFS for inspiration before posting your own.
- Adding *photos* to your ad can help give a good impression of what the accommodation is like and to get the best ad response - and photos can be fun too!
- If you have a website or a social-networking page, then including a link to it will help others to find out more about you.
- Regularly logging in to CFS will help others see you are actively using CFS as your advert(s) will show how many days since you last logged in.
- Your advert will automatically expire 14 days after its "Available From date" (Offered ads) or "Wanted from date" (Wanted ads). You can extend the time it appears on CFS simply by moving the Available or Wanted from date forwards (see "Your ads" for more details on this). To remove your advert click on "Yours ads" (top right), and click on "Delete this ad".
