Owned and managed by Abbey Road Baptist Church, Abbey Road Hostel occupies a wing of the church itself — on Abbey Road, St John’s Wood, directly opposite the world-famous Abbey Road Studios (NW8). It’s a quiet, secure and friendly place to live, at the heart of a warm and welcoming church community. A short 5-minute walk from St John’s Wood Underground (Jubilee line, Zone 2), with good bus routes and a launderette just around the corner.

The Room
• Fully furnished single room: bed (new mattress), wardrobe, desk and chair
• Private en suite with shower, toilet and wash basin
• French doors opening onto a small private courtyard, letting in natural light and fresh air
• Residents provide their own bedding and bed linen

Rent & Residency
• Single occupancy: £1,085/month
• All bills included: council tax, electricity, water and heating
• Flexible periodic residency — minimum 1 month, no fixed end date; bookings up to 2 weeks in advance
• Two weeks’ notice to quit

Shared Facilities
• Use of the spacious main kitchen within the church building, with a second kitchen always available as a back-up — so you’re never left without one. The main-kitchen hours vary around the neighbouring school’s term times (full details provided)
• Communal areas cleaned weekly; residents keep their own room and en suite clean and tidy
• Full-fibre upgrade underway (hoped to complete by autumn); Wi-Fi available meanwhile, though speeds may vary at peak times

Our residents are a wide range of ages and ethnicities, reflecting the diversity of the local area and of Abbey Road Baptist Church itself. Many residents are Christians, though this is not a requirement.

Requirements to Apply
• 1 month’s deposit + 1 month’s rent in advance (deposit paid before signing the licence agreement)
• Two references: one from your church, one from an employer or university/college
• Proof of finances: 3 months’ payslips or bank statements, or a letter of guarantor
