More about the accommodation:

This is a self-contained 'apartment' consisting of four rooms inside a maisonette (3 bedrooms + 1 kitchen-dining room).
Would suit a small family, a PalUp or three individuals

It goes from the 3rd to the 6th floor.
It would suit
- a young couple with one or two kids or
- two professionals or three, to spread the rent (£2200) and convert the current lounge back to a bedroom.
One room is bigger than the other two so we would ask for £725 for the smaller rooms and £750 for the larger one.

The lodgings currently include:
- a kitchen-dining area 3x6m;
- a bedroom 3x6m;
two smaller rooms 3x5m;
- one of these is currently furnished as a bedroom and
- the other is currently used as a lounge, but could also be a bedroom.
- There is access to a shared covered terrace where we have plants and washing lines, though this can also be used as a pleasant outdoor lounge area.

- Access to the front door landing is via a security door with an interphone at street level. We keep our bikes chained to the railings on the landing.

We are a five-minute walk from Burgess Park, and ten minutes from the Old Kent Road in one direction and Peckham Town Centre in the other.
Elephant and Castle and New Cross Tube stations are a ten-minute bus ride away.

NB - while these rooms are self-contained, access is within the address. This is a LODGING arrangement. That is, we need to have access when necessary. However, as with our other lodgers, we would respect your privacy and only enter in an emergency or to provide access to the landlord, who is Southwark Council.

Also NOTE - the photographs show the rooms as furnished by the current lodgers (our son, daughter-in-law and their three young children).
THEY WILL TAKE THIS FURNITURE WITH THEM, BUT YOU WILL HAVE THE COOKING HOBS AND LARGE CUPBOARDS.
If you wish to furnish some or all of it yourselves, tell us what you are bringing and we will manage the rest.

More about the household:

The main tenants are Remi and Hanta both in their early sixties, he is a retired police officer, she is a retired caterer/homemaker with an empty nest, hence the spare bedrooms.
Remi is half French and speaks French with Hanta who is from Madagascar, but both of us speak English.
We have had eight children - all adult and have moved out, hence the empty nest and spare rooms. We also have 11 and soon 12 grandchildren. They sometimes visit but very rarely all together.
The house is usually quiet, but can be quite lively.

Hanta and Remi have been in the same church community for 39 years and we occasionally have prayer meetings around our kitchen table.

Also in the home:
- Anna, their niece. Very quiet and polite;
- John, a Christian Iranian lodger who is an IT engineer;
- Ashwin a Christian Indian programmer;
and also arriving in the New Year,
- Seb who is Remi and Hanta's nephew and Anna's brother.

We would welcome a group of friends or a small family, but we are also willing to take individuals who don't know each other.
